Weekly News: 29-12-2024: Human Development and Character Building

Categories:

In Pushpa 2 movie, a smuggler is portrayed as a hero. A man with zombie-like tendencies, driven by his ego, engages in any activity he desires. Lakhs of trees, including red sandalwood, are being felled by this smuggler to satisfy his ego and support a negative syndicate. Interestingly, the director portrays him as a hero, and the audience also perceives him as a hero.

On the other hand, when trees are required to be cut for essential activities like mining—where they do the planting of double the number of trees elsewhere, contribute to GDP, and create jobs—people often protest. For instance, just two days ago, in Odisha, the Nayani coal project faced protests as locals objected to the felling of 90,000 trees.

In my opinion, this film should be banned in India as it promotes anti-environment and anti-social concepts.

Another negative side of our society- statistics reveal that advanced technological resources like drones, CCTV cameras, and GPS remain ineffective in curbing illegal sand mining, storage, and transportation in India.

These issues remind us of the need to prioritize human development and character building over mere technical advancements.
