Geotechnical instrumentation

Innovative Geotechnical Instrumentation

Innovative Geotechnical Instrumentation was incorporated in 2002 by two engineers working in this field for over 20 years. After an extensive research into the constraints and site conditions, Mr. B. M. Gujral and Ms. Saba came up with designs which addressed a number of problems in geotechnical instrumentation like robustness, effective waterproof sealing, size, corrosive environments, sensitivity and accuracy. These designs were validated and work successfully at a number of major dam sites in India as well as abroad in South Asia, Australia and Europe. In 2011 after the death of Mr. Gujral, Mr. Urooj Mahmood and Mr.Tanveer Mahmood who were previously working in the firm joined as partners. Mr. Urooj is a graduate in Geo-informatics and Mr. Tanveer is a graduate in accounts.

IGI provides high-quality solutions in geotechnical and structural instrumentation. Their range of products includes vibrating wire sensors, load cells, and strain gauges. These instruments find applications in monitoring dams, tunnels, bridges, historical monuments, roads, highways, and nuclear power plants. IGI’s commitment to quality and unique instrumentation solutions has earned them an ISO 9001-2008 approval and CE certification for major instruments. Vibrating Wire Sensors: IGI specializes in manufacturing and supplying vibrating wire sensors used for geotechnical and structural instrumentation.
Load Cells: They offer load cells for monitoring forces and loads in mining structures.
Strain Gauges: IGI provides strain gauges for measuring deformation and stress.
Earth Pressure Cells: These cells help assess lateral pressures in mining contexts.
